When in doubt – mooch.
I have some go-to places that I like to hang out when creative thoughts are percolating. One is an art gallery, in NZ that’s usually the Auckland Art Gallery or Te Uru, they are such great buildings. The other place is Bunnings or Mitre 10.
Today was one of those days. As we head into the final furlong of the race to make something of merit for the exhibition, I took an hour to mindlessly mooch in Bunnings.
Gems uncovered…
- Right angled cold join idea
- Hinge idea’s
- …oh they sell colour perspex sheets – I didn’t know that
- wheels…..hmm that might work for a rope pulley idea that Id like to figure out for next year
- Contour gauge… that would help find weird angles on the body right?
- T Bevel….what do they do? Oh transfer angles, thats interesting.
- + Power tool dreaming….for the eventual ultimate workshop.

Hmm, seed of thought

Interesting Hinge Idea

A Plethora or Perspex
Now I feel re-charged, enthused, and ready for some workshop practice.
Job done.
