Through the HANDSHAKE program my intent is to propel my practice further forward, to continue to push technical and creative boundaries as well as further develop my skill set within professional practices. I see the HANDSHAKE program as an incredible invaluable opportunity to achieve these goals due to the vibrant contemporary jewellery and gain insights to the creative community here in Aotearoa.

What I admire about this creative community is the sense of narrative and the ability to tell a story through form and materials. I am also excited by the diversity of materials, both in the range of materials, along with the approach and exploration of a materials that give cultural meaning to a larger narrative. I cannot wait to explore both these aspects of the Aotearoa creative community, in order to expand and develop my own practice.

Therefore, through HANDSHAKE I seek to participate in the dynamic making community in Aotearoa, build my creative networks and connect with innovative ideas and diverse materials in order to push my practice to the next level. In exchange I am excited to have the opportunity to share what I have learnt in from the Australian contemporary jewellery and small object making community as well as sharing of ideas, feedback back, advice and perhaps collaborate.
