Artist statement

I explore environmental issues and spiritual beliefs such as impermanence and nonattachment.
Non-attachment to material possessions, emotions, ideas and beliefs. Paper is my current material of choice to express ideas around ephemerality.
I am an intuitive maker. I rely on my hands rather than my brain, to do the thinking.

Bio

Nina completed her Bachelor of Applied Arts, majoring in Contemporary Jewellery at Whitireia, New Zealand in 2018. Nina was a participant in Handshake 6.
She was awarded two scholarships and won several awards during her studies such as the Dowse-ECC Award, Friends of Pataka Art Award and the Ethical Metalsmiths Student Award. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and was selected for Schmuck 2020.
