What lies beneath the beauty of the work needs to be revealed, I realise.

That the exhibition conditions might not facilitate this and that is OK. The topic is too big to unpack all at once.

Because what lies beneath the beauty of the work will not go away, it’s still there, beneath. We observe, we contrast, we push and pull.

i have been concerning my self with skin, its colours, its beauty, its meanings and its vulnerability as shown in the previous works, now it’s time to take it to the next stage. Beautiful skin everywhere is attacked, is violated, is abused everywhere in the world and I need to capture this in my next work. I have skin, now what happens to skin is the subject.

Ideas are of a non pleasant nature, quite confronting, not sure if I want top openly discuss them. But they are present, and won’t go away. They may or may not reach the viewer as they are now lying beneath all that beauty.

A balance of hide and reveal is what I need to work on now. And to observe how does this make people feel. Focusing on what skin endures, goes through, and acting on it physically.
