Who knew a glittery translucent gem could become a murky opaque rock?

The beginning was hopeful, full of new thoughts. The present is constraining and fraught with unknowns.

Bio

Auckland based maker Mandy Flood, takes everyday observations and lets them permeate her process led material explorations. She spends time with common place materials allowing both the nature of the material, and the makers mark to be evident in the final outcome. Flood believes that time spent with an object enhances the outcome, that it is the quality of time not necessarily the amount of time that is vital. Presently, she is navigating the loss of her studio due to weather events. This time is valuable and one to be embraced!
